Family Tree Coordinator

Northshire Day School is seeking a full-time coordinator for our newly created Family Tree Program. The Family Tree Program is built on the strengths-based philosophy of the Strengthening Families framework and the protective factors. The program promotes strong families and healthy development for children prenatally through age five, provides resources, service coordination and support to help all families thrive during everyday circumstances as well as persevere during times of stress or crisis. The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will recruit and enroll families in the Family Tree Program, provide services and support as needed and will engage, support and partner with families in building key protective factors. The FTC will implement a continuum of formal and informal prevention and intervention strategies to reach all children and families. The NDS Family Tree Coordinator is a highly motivated self-starter, excited to build a program from the ground up – a visionary, a doer and a collaborator.

Duties:

The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will provide direct services to families offering support, conducting assessments, setting goals, establishing regular contact, monitoring progress and promoting family engagement in NDS activities and special events. The FTC will support the program’s philosophy and mission, implement the Strengthening Families framework and support our NDS classrooms. The FTC will coordinate with community partners, maintain a community resource guide, assist families in accessing services, identify gaps, and coordinate community outreach such as parenting classes and playgroups. The FTC will coordinate the annual assessment, maintain and monitor outcomes data and and be a visible leader in our NDS community.


Requirements:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a Bachelor of Science / Arts in a related field of study. MSW or LICSW preferred.

Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children and families providing family support and service coordination

Deep knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children ages zero to five.

Expertise in the Strengthening Families model and protective factors.

Experience in working with teams of education professionals and other family service workers.

Possess a strong knowledge of G suite and MS Office including the ability to create and work with database programs and write reports.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong sense of integrity, ethics, confidentiality, reliability and accountability.

Early Childhood Educator

Join a team of committed educators and make a difference in the lives of children and families! Northshire Day School is currently hiring full-time Early Childhood Educators to work in our early childhood education program in Manchester Center, Vermont. NDS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.


Duties:

Applicants must be enthusiastic and have a passion for working with and educating young children, the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment, proficient written and verbal communication, knowledge about the STARS program, TS Gold, early childhood licensing regulations, and planning and implementing a play-based curriculum. Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Qualified candidates must be enthusiastic, flexible, motivated and committed to working in the field of early education and the willingness to complete the

required coursework to become a qualified educator. Preferred candidates will have skills and education in child development and learning, building family and

community relationships, observing, documenting and assessing children, using developmentally appropriate practice, building quality curriculum following the Vermont Early Learning Standards, ensuring a healthy and safe environment and a commitment to growing as an early childhood professional. Must be able to work collaboratively with colleagues and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Requirements:

Candidates must be available to work between the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm. Position will begin on or before August 22nd, 2022 in advance of the beginning of the new school year. Candidates must have completed a minimum of 12 college credits in Early Education or related field and have experience working with children ages 0 to 5. Candidates with an A.A. or B.A. in Early Childhood Education preferred. Will consider highly motivated Trainee with a High School

Diploma and a commitment to complete all required coursework.

Substitute Early Childhood Educator (per diem)

Requirements:

Candidates must have a high school diploma and completed Fundamentals of Early Childhood Education or are willing to in the first six months of employment. Preferred candidates will have an A.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education (or 21 related credits) and experience working with 0-5 year olds.

Kitchen Assistant (per diem)

Northshire Day School is looking to hire a Substitute Kitchen Assistant to fill in for our Food Service Director and Kitchen Assistant during vacations, holidays and training. Duties include: Food Preparation, Food Service, Dishwashing, Cleaning.


Requirements:

High School Diploma, Ability to lift 40 lbs. Previous experience preferred.
