Family Services

Advance Child Tax Credit Payments in 2021

The IRS will pay half the total credit amount in advance monthly payments beginning July 15. You will claim the other half when you file your 2021 income tax return.

Free Advance Child Tax Credit Information Sessions

Information provided will include:

  • Eligibility requirements for the Advance Child Tax Credit
  • Information on the IRS Update Portal, where those eligible can:
  • Check if they are enrolled to receive advance payments
  • Unenroll to stop getting advance payments
  • Provide or update bank account information for monthly payments
  • Information on the IRS Non-Filer Portal, where those not required to file a tax return can provide their information to determine eligibility and request advance payments.

There will be three zoom sessions; two in English and one in Spanish.

The English sessions will be on:

Thursday August 5, 2021 / 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Thursday August 26, 2021 / 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.


The Spanish session will be on:

August 13, 2021 / 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

The Vermont Family Network's Family Support Fund assists families with respite and unmet medical expenses. They also offer support and resources to families as they navigate medical and healthcare financing systems.
